Crampons on ice for the entire 10.4 mile loop; in fact, the iciest trail I've ever seen. Not too steep except for one really tough, icy section. (see image below). We got a rare, complete, and starkly wintry view of Mt. Washington and the Northern Presidentials from Mt. Hight, which is right across New Hampshire's rt 16 from Pinkham Notch Visitor Center.
